Overview
We were engaged to construct a new facility for Scotch College on the Senior School Campus in Claremont. The facility included a multi-story construction and ancillary landscaping structures.
Scope
The scope of our contract included:
- Excavation works;
- Form and place concrete for columns, walls and suspended slabs; and
- Form and place concrete for retaining walls, seats, tables and flower beds.
Challenges
During the project execution we were faced with the following site-specific challenges:
- Excavation of inground services with relevant drawings;
- Limited access from east to west, as site was at two levels; and
- Managing additional risks associated with operating on a school premises, such as managing work schedules to keep school access open when required (e.g. school pick-up).
