Tonkin Gap BMD

We were engaged in supporting Altona with their scope of work relating to the upgrade of the highway with additional lanes, new interchanges, bridges and a shared path between Collier Road and Dunreath Drive.

The scope of our contract included:

• Form, tie steel and place concrete for Head Wall, base and stair cases;
• Form and place concrete for pits; and
• Form, tied steel and place concrete for 50m pipe encasement.

During the project execution we were faced with the following site- specific challenges:

• Working parallel and on median strip of Tonkin highway;
• Working in benched excavation; and
• Working near live services.
